Making a Payment:

How do I make a payment?

Once you have registered for a student account, you will be able to complete your payment via the Student Account Online portal. Students from China, India, and Brazil will need to provide identification and payment receipt documents. All supporting documents to set up your account must be sent to edupayments@transfermate.com

How long does a transaction take?

Payments made in your student account portal will be deposited into one of our local bank accounts in your country. We will make payment the same day from our account to your school. These payments are generally received by your school the same day if payments are received before 2pm GMT.

How can I check the status of my payment?

Please check the status on your Student Account Online.

How will I know if my payment has been successful?

Your Student Account Online portal will display status updates regarding your payment. You can also opt to receive email and text notifications.

Credit Card payments take longer to be cleared and then received. For payments made from a Visa or MasterCard – it takes between 3 to 5 business days and for payments made by AMEX – it takes 7 business days.

How do I make a Bank transfer payment?

Once you register for a Bank transfer, please check your e-mail for the subject line “Payment instructions”. The email will not only advise how to make a payment, but it will also contain IFT powered by Transfermate banking information. Once received, you can either use your online banking service (only if it allows for a Bank transfer to be done) or go to the nearest branch of your bank and initiate the payment from there with the assistance of a bank teller.

Can I make a payment in a different currency than the one showed in my payment instructions?

No, if the payment is registered, However, prior to registering the payment you can select the country you’re paying from and that will allow the option to choose another local currency.

Will I be charged for using this service?

All TransferMate services are completely free of charge although you may be charged by your bank for making a local transaction, this is unfortunately out of our control.

 

Identification:

Why do I need to provide Identification?

By law we are required to identify the person transferring funds to our bank account. Your identification will ensure that you and your institution are protected against money laundering attempts.

What is accepted as viable Identification?

Any letter of offer/acceptance, including your name, which has been posted to you by the institution you are wishing to make payments to. In addition, we must receive a scanned copy of your photo identification (passport).

Do I have to provide supporting documents?

No, however there are a number of countries which do require mandatory supporting documents as per banking regulations and law. A good way to find out if your country is one of them is to always check your payment instructions and the confirmation e-mail sent by our customer service team – a list of countries will be provided there.

Brazil
• copy of the payment receipt;
• offer letter/invoice/ tenancy agreement from the school/accommodation;
• passport copy of student or two picture ID’s – CNH, CPF RG

South Africa
• copy of the payment receipt;
• offer letter/invoice/ tenancy agreement from the school/accommodation;
• passport copy of student.

India
• Form A2
• copy of the payment receipt;
• offer letter/invoice/ tenancy agreement from the school/accommodation;
• passport copy of student or two picture ID’s – CNH, CPF RG

China in CNY
• Copy of your passport
• Copy of both sides of the National ID card of student and payer
• Copy of your invoice/acceptance letter
• Copy of the bank payment receipt

NB! If the actual payer is not the student, the student needs to provide an additional evidence of the relationship between him/her and the payer, and any of the following documents is acceptable:

• a copy of the student’s and the payer's household registration booklet
• a copy of the student's birth certificate to prove the parent-child relationship
• a copy of any other evidence issued by China public departments, proving the relationship
